"What justification is there for making abortion a matter of choice? I've argued that even if one does not go so far as to say that the fetus is a human being, the available evidence of — mammalian development, the distinctively human chromosomal identity from the moment of conception, the fact that nothing constitutive is added throughout gestation —
makes it strongly probable that it is a human being and hence that induced aborton bespeaks a willingness to kill an innocent human being. That is clearly immoral and, to quote Lincoln, nobody has a 'right to do a wrong'. The choice to undergo an abortion is not a freedom that a democratic and, indeed, a civilized society can permit."
